Assistant Accountant – Material Accounting

About the role

IFF, a global leader in aromas, scents, food ingredients and health and wellness, is looking for an Assistant Accountant in its Finance department in Markovci. You will support business decisions and financial performance by carrying out accounting and bookkeeping tasks, preparing analyses and reports and keeping accounts accurate and up to date.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out accounting and bookkeeping tasks in material management and support finance processes in the operating environment
• Prepare financial analyses and reports for management
• Keep records of receivables and payables accurate and current
• Manage fixed assets accounting according to internal rules and accounting standards
• Take part in VAT calculations and ensure compliance with legislation
• Carry out general ledger activities and support monthly and year-end closing
• Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Cover accounting duties while colleagues are away and help with other department tasks

Required profile

• At least secondary education in economics, accounting or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
• Active English at B2 level or higher
• Knowledge of accounting processes, financial reporting and accounting documentation
• Precise, responsible and reliable, able to organise work and handle several tasks at once

Required skills

• Excellent command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Advantageous: knowledge of Slovenian accounting standards (SRS) and IFRS, and experience with Oracle or another ERP system
