Accountant

About the role

Numbers are your thing. You know your way around financial statements and love digging into why something doesn’t add up. We are looking for a versatile, hands‑on accountant who can take ownership, work independently and keep things moving even when priorities shift.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly accounting and financial reports (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow) in an international environment.
• Independently calculate corporate income tax and ensure timely filing of tax payments and documentation.
• Submit statistical reports, VAT returns and support other tax and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Maintain and reconcile balance‑sheet, general‑ledger and sub‑ledger accounts, including intercompany, supplier and customer accounts.
• Prepare documentation for month‑end and year‑end reporting, set‑off agreements and dividend resolutions.
• Participate in local and group audit processes, providing financial statements, reports and supporting documentation.
• Monitor accounting and tax obligations, identify risks and propose practical improvements.
• Contribute to improving accounting processes, tools and ways of working to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Required profile

• Fluent written and verbal communication in English and Slovenian.
• High integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
• 8+ years of accounting experience in an international setting, including audits, payroll, tax compliance and monthly reporting.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Solid knowledge of financial reporting, taxation and accounting principles.
• Experience with consolidation and independent handling of monthly closings and audits.
• Relevant professional qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA, CFA or CMA) is a plus.
